MASTERTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
The monthly meeting of t ; ie Trustees was held yesterday. Piesent, — Mesrss J. B. Keith (chairman), W. Fisher, J. H. Murray-Jackson, C. C. Jackson, J. C. Ewington and K. Brown.
Apologies wer° received from Messrs Miller and Mead. The Treasurer reported as follows: —Masterto!) Hospital, balance on January 19th, £190: receipts £536 13s lOd, expenditure £155 2s lid; balance at date £571 15a 7d. Infectious Diseases Hospital: Receipts £lO ss, expenditure £5 7s, balance at date £B6 4s 9d. Accounts totalling £152 10s lOd were passed for payment.
It was resolved that the temporary appointment of Dr Archer Hosting as medical superintendent be made permanent, subject to three months' notice on either side. ,
The question of the water supply to the Hospital was held over till next meeting, Mr Ewington in the meantime to enquire into costs and report.
An extension of time was given the committee to report on the gaa consumption.
A committee consisting of Messrs Brown, Ewington, Murray Jackson, and the chairman were appointed to draw up estimates for the coming year.
The Committee empowered to go through the accounts owing to the had done their work. As a result ten summonses had been issued, and several payments had resulted.
The arrears of fees compared favourably with former years. The Matron reported aa follows Patients in'the Hospital, 16; admittedjduring the month, 23; discharged, 23; in at present, 16. Mr James Miller was appointed visiting Trustee for the motnth.
