When the Wages Board met afi Newcastle this afternoon, it learned that a hitch had cccuired in tha negotiations for a settlement. 3 Mr Chadton, a member *of thd Legislative Assembly,who is engaged! formulating the Miners' claims, 1 1 laid he had hcped to have arranged for the men to return on Monday,! bjt he had not had time to com-* plete the task. He asked the Board to adjourn till next Wednesday, wheq he trusted to have the men back on that day. He feared a serious obstacle had arisen in „connectiori with Judge Scholes' and £bis efforts to bring the masters and men to- - > ' gether.
