KOPUARANGA NOTES.
From Our Own Correspondent. KOPUaRANGA, Monday.
The Sunday School picnic was held on Saturday in beautiful weather. There was a large attendance of both pupils and adults, who joined in games of all kinds. A plentiful supply of dainty eatables, provided by the ladies, was partaken of in the shade of some native trees in the paddock kindly lent by Mr Miller. Some handsome prizes, were handed out, and in doing so Mr G. Bruce spoke in high terms of the good work done in the school.
What is considered by the settlers to be the most effective rabbit poisoning for years past has just been completed, with phosphorised pollard,
under the supervision of Inspector Rankin.
At the postponed meeting of the School Committee, held last week, it was decided to hold the annual picnic on 12th March next. About £4 was collected in the room in aid of the funds.
