By Telegraph—Press Association. MARTON, February 14. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report a most successful clearing sale on account of Mr Wm. Cock* bum, at Onepuhi, on Saturday There was a good attendance. The sheep were an exceptionally nice lot, and were eagerly sought after. Cattle sold well. Sheep: Two, 4, and 6toothand f.m. ewes 12s 7d; old ewes, 6s, 7s 6d to 8s Id; 2 tooth ewes, 15s 2d; cull ewes, 4s; aline of 300 mixed lambs 9s, rape lambs 8s Id, store lambs 5s 3d and 5s 6d; culls, 3s 6d. Cattle.—Cows in milk, from £3 17s 6d >o £4 13s 6d; 15 months heifers, £2 3s 6d; mixed weaners, £3 3s 6d; 2£yr heifers in calf, £3 16s 6d; 2&yr steers, £4 2s. The horses were sold at satisfactory figures. •

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Pongaroa sale of 11th inst. as follows:—We again submitted a heavy entry of sheep, yarding close on 3,000, and also a good yarding of cattle, to a large at- i tendance of farmers. Sheep of quality realised good values, but aged ewes and medium lambs were difficult to quit. Cattle also sold well, especially steers. New XphlhoH 1 oari and Mercantile Agency Company's yards were again kindly placed at our disposal. We quote:—Two and 4-tooth wethers, 10s 9d to lis lid; 2-tooth wethers, small, 9s; fat ewss and wethers, lis Id; young ewes, lis 4d to lis 6d; sound mouth ewes, 8s 3d to 10s; f.m. ewes, 5s 9d to 7s; good woolly iambs, 8s 2d; Lincoln rams, 255. Forward grown steers, £5; 2& and 3yr steers, £3 18s, £2 to £2 4s 6d; weaner steers, 355; fat cows, £4; empty heifers, £2 12s.

DANNEVIRKE RAM FAIR

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report of the Ram Fair held by them at Dannevirke last Saturday:—Our catalogue comprised 352 rams on account of noted Wairarapa, Manawatu, South Island and ether breeders, and as the offerings were mostly of superior quality bidding was spirited throughout our sales, and with two exceptions every line changed hands. Some very satisfactory prices were realised, a shearling stud ram on account of Mi W. H. Buick, of Masterton, being knocked down to Mr McKenzie, of Falmerston, at 20 j guineas. A shearling stud Romney ram on account of Messrs Bros., of Palmerston, was secured by Mr M. Voss, of Longburn, at 15 guineas, and a shearling Stud Lin • coin ram on account of Messrs McGregor, of Masterton, was purchased by Mr T. Hunter, of Otope, at 6 guineas. In Flock Romneys, the highest price for the day was for a line on account of Mr W. H. Buick, sold to Mr McLeod, of Ti Tree Point, at 9fd guneas. Another line on account of Messrs McGregor Bros , of Masterton, Was sold to Mr G. Charteris, of Managtoro, at 71 guineas. A large number of other shearling Romneys reached from 3J guineas to . 5 guineas, and for inferior sorts from 2to 21 guineas. English Leicester were not much in demand, a few shearlings selling at 2 guineas. Border Leicesters reached from 2 to 2i guineas, and shearling Lincolns ' on account Mr W. Perry, of Masterton, sold from 4fd to 5 guineas, and on account Messrs McGregor Bros., of Mastertnn, from 4 to 5 guineas. On rof other breeders prices range 1 from 1 to 2J guineas. This was the first ram fair held in'Dannevirke. and was a pronounced success, both numbers quality and prices, far exceeding all anticipations.

]. SALE. Messrs Dalsety and Co., Ltd., report having held their yearly aale at •Langdale, at Mr Ryder's yards (kindly lent for the occasion). We had some really good lines of ewes and rams in our entry, but as sel'ers attended in larger numbers than buyers many lines were passed in. However, after the sale satisfactory business was done privately, and a fair number of sales took place. We offered some really good Lincoln ram?, and a line of 20 two-tooth's, bred by Mr D. Bennett, were really good bheep, and we sold them in a line at £3 3s, stud Lincolns made up to s|gns; 2-tooth ewes, lis; sound-

mouth ewes, 9s 6d to 9s 9d; halfbred lambs, small, 3s 9d; Southdown rams, tw) and thrsG-shcsr, 3fjns, woolly black face lambs, small, 6s 6d to 6s 9d; half draught* filly, £8 10s; draught colt, £l6.
