THE KNYVETT CASE.
ANOTHER INDIGNATION MEETING.
AUCKLAND UP IN ARMS AGAIN.
By Telegraph—Press Association, AUCKLAND, February 14.
Another public indignation meeting in connection with the Knyvett case was held to-night in His Majesty's Theatre, which was packed to overflowing. Mr C. J. Parr presided, and the following resolution was carried:—"That this meeting views with regret and indignation the decision of th Government to adhere to a grossly unjust sentence passed upon ex-Captain Knyvett, with respect to charges, against which he has not been allowed proper opportunity of defending himself, and which have never been proved, and for which if they had been proved, the punishment is out of all proportion to the offence." A resolution was also carried urging that a Royal Commission be appointed to inquire into the administration of the Defence Department.
