Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd, report having held their weekly sale at Eketahuna on Friday last. Entries both in sheep and cattle came in in excess of advertised numbers. Sheep sold fairly well, although bidding at auction was dull We sold practically our whole yarding, two small pens going out unsold. Outside buyers were fairly numerous, and bought the bulk of our yarding. Local requirements are seemingly filled. There was spirited bidding for all classes of cattle, and we made a total clearance of a heavy yarding. We quote:—Sheep: Two-tooth wethers, tolos9d; f.m. ewes, 7s, 7s 3d, 7s 9d to 10s 6d; aged ewes, 3s to 7s 3d; small lambs to 6s 9d; extra good 2-tooth ewes, 14s Bd. Cattle.— Cuws and calves, £3 lis, £3 12s 6d, to £3 15s; empty forward cows. £3 6s; aged bullocks, to £6 6s; 3 to 3£yr bullocks to £5 4s; 18 month steers to £3 12s 6d; yearling heifers. 35s to 37s 6d; 2yr heifers, \ £2 Is to £3 Is; mixed, weaners, 1 is to 525. LONDON MAKKETS. Messrs Dalgety and Company, . Ltd., Wellington, report having received the following cable messages from their London house under date of the 10th inst.: —Frozen Meat: For mutton there is an improved demand at prices somewhat in sellers' favour. Lamb is very firm, prices ranging from Jo to |d higher. Beef is in fair demand at prices somewhat in sellers' favour.
