SENIOR. CAKLTGN v. MASTERTON. The Carlton-Masterton match was advanced another stage on Saturday, The game was unfinished, and on the drawing of stumps M<tsterton have an innings in which to get 305 runs—a big laad to make up. Redmond, the not out man, and Francis, went to the wickets for Masterton, who had three wickets to fall to complete their first innings. These fell for an additional nine runs, the innings producing 119. Carlton opened with Styles and Waugh, and they brought the total up to 41 before Waugh was dismissed. Skelley was next in, and soon started to make things merry, his innings finally closing for 71. Style?, Maacelles, A. Hoar and Moss were dismissed in quick succession, Logan being mainly responsible for their departure. Ogier and Skelley then became associated, ana the partnership brought the total up to the second century mark. Madsen also played well, and carried out his bat. Matthew's A and Masterton made a start with their match on the Park Oval, and at present have the best of things. Winning the toss, they elected to bat, and were dismissed for the small total of 48.
