LONDON WOOL SALES.

Received February 6, 5 p.m. LONDON, January 5. The wool catalogued was 178,282 bales. It was sold in the following quantities:—Home trade 80,000. Continent 84,000, American 14,000. held over 500. The average for greasy merinos was fully maintained. De cember rates tor fine sorts advanced 5 per cent. All scoured wools advanced 5 per cent Finer crossbreds barely maintained December rates; coarser advanced 5 to 10 per cent, the topmaking sorts showing the greatest rise. Slipes advanced 5 to 10 per cent. Merino' advanced 5 per cent. Te Pura wool reached Hid, the average being lOfd.
