Received February 4, 11.30 p.m. SYDNEY, February 4. The four-masted barque from the West Coast of America narrowly escaped striking the Middleton Reef For eight days, while approaching the coast, she was buffeted by incessant gales, and when day broke she was close on to the reef, and the crew had barely time to swing tne ship clear. _____,_—_— „__
