THE RAILWAY TIMETABLE.
Some disappointment is no doubt being felt that there is no news to hand in regard 4 to any alterations in the railway time-table for the Wairarapa and Bush districts, but we are inclined to think that, in this case at any rate, "no news is good news," and that the absence of information implies that the Minister of Railways is very carefully considering what it is best to do under all the circumstances. There is no necessity to review the present situation at length. The present service is unsatisfactory, and this fact must be known to the Minister. That some alterations, entailing no extra expense. of a beneficial character can be made is also clear, but the Wairarapa district is not alone in objecting to its railway service. From Hawke's Bay there have been complaints long and loud and the Minister, it appears, is considering the We, therefore, venture to think that within the course of the next few days alterations in the railway service will be announced, but should the reverse prove to be the case it would seem to be advisable for the Masterton Chamber of Commerce to approach the Minister in regard to what his intentions may we.
