INCREASED CONSUMPTION OF BEER. By Telegraph—Press Association. INVERCARGILL, January 31. The total amount of revenue collected by the Customs here for Janu» ary (inclusive £173 3s 4d surtax) was £8,162 Is 2d, an increase of £2,273 over January of last year. The amount of beer duty collected during the month represents an increase of 2,372 gallons in the consumption of locally-made beer.
