WOMEN AND VOTES. By Telegraph--Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 31. The Anglican General Synod today had before it a motion for ammendment of the canon so as to give women communicants the right to vote andjact on vestries, and the right to vote for members of the Diocesan Synods. The discussion was adjourned till to-morrow. The Bishops were empowered to appoint some person or persons to compile a new history of the church id New Zealand. This was done on the motion of Rev. Sedgewick, who pointed out that the leaders of the church possessing knowledge in relation to the early life of the church in the Dominion were slowly passing away, and the personal knowledge of those remaining should be obtain • ed before it was too late.
