HACKENSCHMIDT'S VISIT.
Considerable interest has been created by the announcement of the approaching visit of George Hackenschmidt, the renowned wrestler and athlete, who is to appear at the Town Hall on Friday next. Quite apart from the wrestling exhibitions by the Russian and bis assistants, numerous elements of athletic interest are contained in the programmes of the coming show. Students of physical culture, will realise to what an extraordinary degree of perfection the scheme ot muscle culture can bebrought without the aid of spring dumb-bells and'elastic devices, it is pointed out that the series arranged by Hackenschmidt is of an unusually i comprehensive character, inasmuch J that the various exercises are all I graphically described by Mr King Morgan, an English expert. Gunner Moir, the famous athlete, together with Alex. Bain, the Scottish giant, are to appear as assistant demonstrators. A big feature of tha series is said to be the artistic posing by Hakenschmidt of the studies of the the Greek masters. Endurance tests also form part of this interesting display. While in lighter vein, a refined entertainment, consisting of monologues, magic, music, song and story, will be provided by Clifford Bskell, a magician of note, Mark Osborne and others. • Added to the above excellent bill of fare, films descriptive of Haekenschmidt's most recent international contests will be displayed I per medium of the bioscope.
