PALMERSTON N., January 27. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows :—A t our Palmerston North said to-day we offered a heavy yarding of sheep and a medium yarding of cattle. Sheep met with a ready sale, and we effected a total clearance with the exception of two pens. We quote:— Fat wethers, 12s 6d; 2-tooth wethers, small, 7s lOd to 8s iOd; mixed aged breeding ewes, 9s; 4-tooth ewes, 12s sd; cull ewes, 2s to 3s lid; forward ewes, 8s; lambs, 3s 9d, 5s 2d, 5s lid, 8s: rams, 7s 6d to Bs. Every pen of cattle offered was sold under the hammer at satisfactory prices. We quote: Three-year steers, £5 ss; 18-month steers, £2 10s 6d; small, £2 2s; forward cows, £3 6s; cull cows, 22s 6d to 255; weaners, 10s, 16s and 19s; cows in milk, £3 15=. JOHNSONVILLE, January 27. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows:—At our sale yesterday we offered an exceptionally heavy yarding of sheep, about 3,300 of all sorts being penned besides a good entry of prime bullocks. We experienced a good demand for both fat and store sheep, and everything offered was sold under the hammer except a line of aged ewes. Breeding ewes were in strong demand, and good lines made top prices, vve quote:—Prime bullocks, beat, £8 15s, lighter £8 to £8 7s 6d, light £7 17s 6d; prime wethers, 13s 3d to 13s 6d, lighter 12s 6d to 12s 7d; prime heavy ewes. 13s Id; medium ewes lis 2d to lis 4d; prime shorn lambs, 10s to 10s 4d; woolly, lis IOd; plain shorn, 7s 6d. On account of Messrs Bryant Bros, a good line of f.m. ewes made Ms 6d, and on account of Mr S. Bryant a line of four-tooth to f.f.m. ewes were sold at 12s 3d; other lines realised as follows:—Forward wethers, lis to lis sd; two-tooth wethers, 9s 9d to 10s 3d; four, six and f.f.m. ewes, lis sd; f.f.m. ewes, 9s to 9s 7d; f.f.m ewes, 8s to 9s; aged ewe, 7s 4d to 7s 6d, f.f.m. ewes, 8s to 9s; aged ewes, 7s 4d to 7s 6d; cull ewes, 3s 6d to 5s 9d; good rape lambs, 8s; store lambs, 5s 4d to 5s 7d; cull, 3s 6d to 4s.
