"Received January 27, 10.50 a.m. MELBOURNE, January 27. A special enquiry is being held into the circumstances attending a runaway goods train between Lancefield and Sunbury. For some unexplained brakes failed to act, and the train travelled at the rate of sixty miles an hour. A departmental foreman, who was traveling in a van, pluckily climbed from a truck, put on the hand-brakes, and brought the train to a standstill.
