METEOROLOGICAL.
By Telegraph—Press Asscoiation. WELLINGTON, January 20. The following is Rev. D. o. Bates' summary and forecsat:—Unsettled and cloudy, warm and humid conditions have prevailed with heavy showers Fogs in parts and thunderstorms in others have been reported to-day. A small secondary cyclone has formed off Kaikoura to-day. The present indications are for a temporary rise in the barometer, and a further fall to-morrow. The weather will probably continue very unsettled with variable winds, the prevailing westerly winds backing to northerly and freshening after sixteen hours.
Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at the Upper Plain for the 24 hours preeceding 9 a.m on Thursday was 1 inch 8 points.
