TINNED RABBITS.

APPRECIATED BY BRITISH TARS. INSUFFICIENT SUPPLIES. Received January 19, 8.55 a.m. LONDON, January 18. Mr 0. A. R. Murray, Director of Victualling for the Admiralty, has wrtten to' Mr John Taverner, AgentGeneral for Victoria, complaining that a Melbourne firm contracted in June last to supply one hundred thousand pounds of tinned rabbits, and had nnly delivered 20 per cent of the stimulated quantity. The contractors explained that they were unable to supply the balance for many months. Mr Murray states that Victorian tinned rabbits had proved highly satisfactory, and were much appieciated by the fleet. He feared that a break in the continuity of supplies would tend to destroy the steady demand which was developing.
