METEOROLOGICAL.
By Telegraph—-Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 19. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast:— Cloudy and unsettled weather has prevailed. Tne barometer has risen, and already fallen again slightly in the last 24 hours. Th present indications are for a further fall everywhere, with showery and misty weather in most parts of the country. Freshening northerly winds are probable generally. Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at the Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Sunday was two points; for the 24 hours preceding 9a.m. on Tuesday, three points; and for the 24 i hours preceding 9 a.m. on Wednesday, seven points.
