THE NEWCASTLE STRIKE. ANOTHER SUMMONS ISSUED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received January 12, 10.2 a.m. SYDNEY, January 12. Mr Walsh, the Newcastle agent of the Seamen's Union, has been summoned to answer a charge of using inciting language in connection with Saturday's meeting of Newcastle miners.
SLAUHGTERMENS' TROUBLES
By Telegraph—Pi ess Association. WELLINGTON, January 12. A Conciliation Council convened by the Conciliation Commisisoner, Mr P. Hally. sat this afternoon to deal with the situation that has arisen in the slaughtering trade in consequence of the employees having given notice of their intention to strike. The Commissioner presideed, and Messrs H. A. Ryder and G. G. Martin were present to represent the employees, and Messrs Tripe and Corner the Gear Meat Company, and Mr Sladden ths Wellington Meat Export Company. The proceedings were conducted in camera, and it was decided that no information would be given to the press until the result of the deliberations had been communicated to the men.
