IN A HURRICANE.
LINER'S TRYING TIME. TERRIFIC FORCE OF THE WIND. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received January 10,11.15 a.m. LONDON, January 9. The Orient steamer Otranto encountered a hurricane off Gibraltar. The gale was of such force that it lifted the lifeboats from the chocks. Several waterspouts burst around the vessel. The storm did much damage on shore.
