The PJunket Shield cricket match between Auckland and Canterbury was continued to-day, in fine but dull weather. There was a large attendance. The day's play opened in an interesting manner, the score being carried before the last wicket fell from 189 for 9 wickets to 275, the batting of Sneddon being mainly responsible. Canterbury batted the rest of the day, and when stumps were drawn had scored 214 for nine wickets. Carlton's batting was the feature of the innings. He went in after the tall of the first wicket, and is still not out with 78 to his credit. Relf was the most successful bowler. The following are the scores: — CANTERBURY.
