Lord Kitchener upset the preparations for elaborate manoeuvres at Liverpool to-day, issuing new orders at 2 o'clock this morning. A sensational accident occurred to the close of yesterday's operations. A Colt gun, which was being cleared, discharged a bullet, which, passing through a tent, killed a horse, then struck Mr Somerville, a "Daily Telegraph" reporter, who was standing a hundred yards away, on the • leg, inflicting a bar! flesh wound.

Mr Somerville was removed to the hospital
