AFFAIRS IN INDIA.
Received January 6, 9.35 p.m. CALCUTTA, January 6. Sir Sydenham Clarke, in opening the Legislative Council of Bombay, consisting of 46 members, 33 being non-official, denounced the recent bomb outrages. He added that it was improbable that the Government would ever desire to force any measure which a large majority of nonofficial members opposed, but the ultimate executive power will not and cannot be abandoned.
