WELLINGTON WOOL SALES.
'I he New Zealand Loan and Mer- ■ cantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as iollows:~The Associated Brokers on Friday offered catalogues comprising about 20,000 bales of wool, of which our proportion was some 3,220 bales. There was a bigger attendance of buyers than usual, and competition from all quarters was good. We estimate prices were id to Jd per lb better ror coarse
wools, and Jd to |d per lb higher for skirtings; fine wools being on a par with December rates. Continental buyers were keen after lambs, and we obtained 12fd for one line of 16 bales Romney Cross lambs grown by Mr J. R. McLennan, of Falmerston North district. The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association Ltd. Wellington report as follows: —The third wool sale ■ of the season was held on Monday in the Town Hall. There was a good attendance of buyers and bidding was spirited. The two earlier sales I being practically cleared the market of the light conditioned wools the catalogue consisted largely of the coarser and heavier type. Prices for crossbreds coarse and medium are higher by id to Jd per pound than the previous sale. We quote as follows :- Halfbred medium 10£ d to 10|d medium crossbred and Komney clean and well skirted lOd to 11 Jd medium; crossbred heavy condition 9dtolod; coarse crossbred 71d to 9d; dingy and inferior crossbred 6|d to 7£d; lambs medium quality 8d to 9§d; lambs seedy and inferior 6|d to 7§d; bellies and pjeces 5Jd to 7Jd; locks 3d to 4£d.
