NEW SOUTH WALES.
THE YEARS WORK
TREASURER'S STATEMENT
Received January 3, 9.50 a.m. SYDNEY, January 3. The State Treasurer (Hon. T.. Waddell), reviewing the year's work, said he had no doubt that the forecast he had given when Jae delivered the Budget would be more than realised, and that there would be a very substantial surplus. Last months accounts* show that there was a decrease on the railways and tramways of £47,000, due to reduced traffic on account of the Newcastle strike.
