MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.
The ordinary meeting of the | Mauriceville County Council was held j on Saturday last. There were pres- j ent,—Crs F. W. H. Kummer (chairman), C. Forsberg, H. J. | Dagg, C. Churchill Jackson, J. E. Perry and 0. Isaakson. Mr D. Christie again wrote drawing attention to repairs needed on Mangatainoka Valley Road.—lt was reported that repairs are now being effected." The secretary of the Mauriceville Cricket Club forwarded a resolution of the club to the effect that owing to want of financial support it is unable to take over lease of stock paddock at Mauriceville railway ! station. Mr C. A. Wall wrote drawing at- \ tention to the necessity for a piece , of fencing at approach to suspension ] bridge on Mount Bruce Road to facil- j itate the driving of stock over the i brirge, and making an oft'er to do the work, also suggesting that the watertables on south end of road be denned out. Alter some discussion it was decided tliat Cr Isaakson should visit this locality, and report to next meeting of the Council. The clerk was instructed, if found neces?ary, to institute proceedings against J. Anderson for breach of heavy traffic by-law. It was decided to agree to renew C. Franzen's contract for the maintenance of Mauriceville South and West Road for another term of 1 twelve months. [ The cjerk was directed to notify the Railway Department that lease ' of paddock will not be renewed. j Messrs G. Parker and Company, sawmillers, were given three days in which to sign agreement re mainto.n- - ance of section of Mount Bruce Road between the mill, and Makakahi , River. ' Accounts amounting to".£lsH Ifis 5d were pasjed for payment. The next meeting will be held on Saturday, January 29th, 1910.
