WORK AT ELLERSLIE. By Telegraph —Press Association, » AUCKLAND, December 22. Very little fast work was regis~ tered at Ellerslie this morning, moat of the horses being restricted to steady pacing, ( *'«rraby beat Eny« over two furlongs on the tan ,in 25sec. .Lace Collar did four furlongs on the same track in 51 2 ssec. Boltin as better than;Woodhey over the same journey in 53see, Sir Tristram running the distance in the' same, time. Aberhrothock was an absentee. Quinlivan arrived yesterday with, Ma n ri King, Musketry, Kilindim and Theodore.
AT AWAPUM. By Telegraph—Press Association* PALMERSTON N„ December 22. Easy tasks- were allotted the majority of the horses at Awapuni this morning, nearly all those out doing slow work cantering and trotting. Beautiful weather prevails, and the tracks are in splendid order. Of those that worked, Nyland was much too good for Crucinella over five furlongs, which were left behind ii> lmin 4sec on the plough. Two of J. Lowe's team, Truganini and Lord Kelvin,, followed over the same course, and reeled it off a couple of ticks quicker, the colt running excellently. The Multiform colt Polymorphous, who is engaged in the Sires' Produce Stakes, is one of the gross sort, and work has been allotted to him on a liberal scale. He has galloped the last two mornings, and this morning he was too good for the Captain Webb colt Seaweed over half a mile,, covered in sißec. Lifeht work was dona ay Gold Measure, Full Cry, Gold Water Osiris, Tumut, Paisana. Koran, Tawhaki, Bridge, Separator, Winning Post, Bally Shannon, Witnmera, Sir Solo, Formeden, Marathon, and several others.
