MESSRS M'LEOD AND YOUNG'S CHRISTMAS STOCK.

The well-known Masterton firm of McLeod and Young, booksellers, stationers, fancy goods and toy import ers, are recognised as one of the most up-to-date firms in their class of business in New Zealand. Their fine premises in Queen street- I—"The 1 —"The Academy"—are always stocked with the latest and best quality goods, marked at the most reasonable prices. For the Christmas season of 1909, however, they have opened an exceptionally large and valuable consignment of seasonable novelties. The shop is now "a veritable storehouse of articles suitable for Christmas presents, and patrons who are in doubt as to what to chaise in the way of the customary and thoughtful "Cristmas Box" need not remain in a state of hesitation any longer. There are. at "The Academy," in the book line (always an acceptable form of Christmas present) dainty little editions of standard works, which include many of the wellknown classic authors. There are books for boys, books / for girls, for children, for adults, in fact for every age and stage of 'ife. In leather goods the firm has established a wide reputation, their window display of this line being a remarkable one, and a credit to the proprietors. Dressing cases, and manicure sets are typical L<hristmas presents, and these are also found in endless variety. The fancy goods department will furnish customers with a rare variety of beautiiul and dainty articles. The toy department is a fair bonanza for children, and "Santa Claus" has evidently left a bountiful supply from his store in "The Academy." This department is replete with every imaginable kind of toy, the range of dolls being a special feature of the display.
