THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.

A FIRST-CLASS PROGRAMME. The usual .change of programme was presented at the Foresters" Hall |on Saturday night, and was witnessed by an overflowng audience. The supply of subjects for animated photography is unlimited, and therefore Messrs Thompson and Payne are , able to supply programmes of equal 1 merit'" The latest - productions are up to the usual high standard of those already produced. The educational value of this class of entertainment is beyond question, and the old as well as the younger patrons, can always learn something that should be benefivial to them. "A Trip up the Medway" gives some fine river scenery and splendid views of Maidstone.and Aylesford. "Cowboy Exploits," a3 its name impliep, is an American backwood subject, and the manner in which the intrepid horsemen bandh their animals brought forth great applausee. "The Broken Vow" is a pathetic drama which is unfortunately enacted often in reality This picture fully aroused the sympathies of the large audience. "The Shoemaker of Kopenick' is a pictorial representation of the story well known the world over. The audience fully grasped the humour of the shoemaker impersonating the pompous German captain and his subsequent arresting of the Mayor of Kopeniek and robbing the town treasury. "Catching Crocadiles" proves to be a rather dangerous sport, in which tha hunters seem to revel. The comic element is well supplied by "A Ragman's Bargain," and the "Amateur Detective." "The Orlyssey of a Soldier," "A Good Comparison," and a fine pantomime film, "The Bogey Woman," completes a first-class programme, which will be supplemented by other subjects to-night. A complete change will take place on Wednesday next.
