PERSONAL.
The many frierds of Mr Percy Lee, •who is at present in the Masterton Hospital, will be pleased to learn that he is making satisfactory progress towards recovery. A private lett°r received in Masterton states that Mr F. 'J. Wayne, late Stock Inspector at Masterton, who was transferred to the Thames oh account of ill-health, is now almost completely recovered. Mr and Mrs Neil] Stuart-Campbell, Miss G. Campbell and Master Campbell arrived by the p.h. Tongariro on Tuesday last, and will spend Christmas with their son, Mr Neil Campbell, Colomba road. Lord and Lady Plunket, who will shortly leave Palmerston North, entertained a large.number of guests -at a garden party at "Woodhey," the Vice-Regal residence, on Saturday last. Mr J. J. Mead, of Carterton, has just received wnrd that he qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court at the law professional examinations held last month.
