It is stated that warrants have been issued for th£ arrest of 20 more strike leaders at Newcastle for inciting the men to strike. Atfer an all-night sitting Mr Wade's Bilf passed throueh all its stages without amendment, after a persistent application of the closure. Mr Wade's Bill provides, among other things : That a leader whu instigates or aidß a strike or lockout shall be liable 11 twelve months' imprisonment without the option of a fine. Thß penalty on the other leaders is left at two months' imprisonment. It the planning of a strike or lock-out is carried on behind closed doors the police are empowered to enter. These penalties shall apply equally to masters and men. An increase of the penalties shall only apply where a strike deprives | the puolic of a necessary commodity. The Bill also contains two clauses from the Commonwealth Act agaii.st illegal combinations.

Subject to the Strike Congress ratifying the agreement reached ioday at the conference between the Western owners and miners, the latter will resume work on Monday. Shifts of men wril be put on to-mor-row to prepaie the pits.
