TE ORE ORE SCHOOL.
ANNUAL PICNIC. The annual picnic of the Te Ore Ore School was held at the old Te Ore Ore"' homestead yesterday, there was a good attendance of pupils and aprents and their friends, and a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. The Headmaster, Mr G. Jones, assisted by the Shool Committee, had ail the arrangements for the outing complete. The following is the result of the races, fitc., run during the afternoon :
Boys under five, Malcolm Ponald; girls under 5, Nina Davidson; boys under 9,,Rangi Huatahi; girls under 9, Myrtle Watson; noys under 11, Frank Jaques; girls under 11, Dorothea Nelson; Te Ore Ore school boys, Sidney Cooper; Te Ore Ore School girls, Jessie Cooper; boys' sack race, Nahu Haeata; girl's boot jumble, Netta Bennett; bovs' threelegged race, Piti Reiri and Sidney Cooper; girl's three-legged race, Netta Bennett and Muriel Douglas; girls' blindfold, Celia Minogue; boys' high jump, Nahu Haeata; pol? jump, Joe. Governor 1, Poehipi Haeata 2; young ladies' race, Mi ß3 Douglas 1, Miss Simmonds 2; naildriving, ladies, Mist, Scott; young men's cotton winding race, W. Coo per 1. At a suitable interval the Chairman of the School Committee presented the prizes won during the year, and in a neat speech referred to the excellence of the pupils' work, particularly in • gardening. The list of successful prize-winners is as follows Standard Vl.—Percy Cooper, gardening. Standard V. — Isa Jones, first examination prize. Standard IV.—Muriel Douglas and Fred. Hunt, equal for 'first. Sid Cooper, progress. Standard II I. —
Nahu Haeata, first. Standard 11. Marjory Lee, first; Piti Reiri, spelling prize. Standard I. —Chas. Jones, examination first; Henry Governor, spelling; Myrtle Watson, progress. Preparatory, 3—Dorothy Lee, first; Willie Ennis. progress. Preparatory, 2—Rangi Huatahi, spelling prize. Sewing—lsa Jones, senior; Dorothy Lee, junior; Henry Governor, boys' class. Attendance certifi-cate-First-class. Isa Jones; secondclass, Percy Cooper, Fred Hunt and Charles Jones. Every child attending the school received a gift book from the Committee.
