STEERAGE CONDITIONS ON LINERS. ■ fA DENIAL.

Received December 16, 9 a.m.' N&W YORK, December 15. The Uiiited States Immigration Commission has issued an extraordinary report regarding the steerage condition on trans-Atlantic liners. The report is based on the voyage by its secret agents. It states that the sleeping quarters are filthy, that male stewards, the crew and male steerage passengers on many of the steamships crowd the women's compartments, that their language and manners are revolting and inmrlting. ; The Cunard, White Star and other; companies indignantly deny the statements.
