The New Zealand Loan and Mercan-1 tile Agency Company, Ltd., report on their fortnightly stock sale yesterday as followsWe submitted a catalogue of upwards of GOO head of cattle of all classes, but no sheep. The entry in cattle as mostly young steers, only one pen of'bullocks being offered. There as also a fair number of cows and heifers. Taken all through the yarding as good, and although the demand was not equal to last sale and rates generally easier. We quitted tne whole yarding with the exception! of one pen of steers. Best 3 and 4 year steers realised £5 15s, medium 3 year steers £4 15s, 2£ year steers according to class £3 10s to £4 4s, 2 year steers £3 9s to £4, 18 months steers £2 13s to £3, yearlings 42s to 525, young cows and calves £3 10s, forward cows £3 to £4, stores £2 16s to £3 3s, 3 year heifers £3, 2 year heifers £2 10s to £2 15s. Messra Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their fortnightly sale at their Ma3terton yards, yester 'day, when they offered a small yardin gjjof sheep, comprising two-tooth I wethers and ewes anri lambs. In cattle we had a very good yarding indeed, including some very forward bullocks from Messrs iiarton Bros., "Maiaikona" Station These cattle brought from £5 14s to £6 6s. We quote as follows: —Two-tooth wethers, 10s 3d; ewes and lambs, 7s to 8s 6d; 3 and 4-year very forward bullock up to £6 6s; 3-year bullocks, £5 14s;, forward cows, £3 to £3 3s; 15month steers, £2 ss; 15 to 18-month heifers £2 2s to £2 12s 6d; springing cows, £2 16s to £3 ss; fat cow, £4 5s to £5.
