Wednesday. A distressing accidsnt happaned ' this morning to Mr D. Crease, a young married man, wh:> is traveljing for Messrs Ballinger Bros ~ Wellington. Mr Crease left Pahiatua shortly before 11 o'clock this r morn~ ing, in a gig to go to M angatainoka. When near the Domain Ground, one of the wheels of the vehicleg run over a small stump, capsizing the gig. Mr Crease was dragged sorr e distance along the ground, his skull being fractureii. Constable' May and several others wore foon onjthe spot, .ard the injured man was conveyed to the Pahiatua Hospital in an unconscious condition, where his injuries w ere atterded to by Dr. Dawson. At the time of writing the unfortunate man's condition is unaltered, and fears are entertained for his recovery. The Presbyteriaan Sunday Sch 00l tea meeting and social passed off ' very successfully last evening. The names of the scholars who received speciallDrizes will be publishe d in to-morrow's issue. The daily mine supply at the Bal. lance Dairy Company's Factory at Ballance is now over 3,000 gallons. Mr D. O'Rrien is the largest supplier at the sams Cornp«ny's creamery at Scarborough, taking 1,7001bs of milk daily. Mr Thos. Avery still heads the list at the Konini branch, bis daily supply being between 4,4f1U and 4,5001b3 of milk. At the Mangaramarama Cheese j Factory 1,700 gallons of milk are being delivered dailv. Mr J. C. Cooper left for Wellington to-rlny on business crnriected with the Wellington Farmers' Meat Freezing Company. At a meeting of the Pahiatua Racing Club last evening, at which Mr J. Breeds presided, Mr J. Walden was appointed racecourse detective, and Messrs E. B, Hare, W. W. McCardle and K. McLennan were ap.
