THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.
Last night Messrs Thompson and Payne presented their twentieth change of programme to the Master - ton public. There was a large attendance, and the various films submitted were enthusiastically received. Thi« programme is a well balanced one, and the dramatic, comic, scenic, and industrial films produced are quite equal to anything to be seen in the larger cities. In an up-to-date moving picture entertainment dialogue is unnecessary, as t the pictures speak for themselves. 'The star picture of the current series is undoubtedly a dramatic study entitled "The Rivals." It is a military subject, and the plot is laid in England and India. The other dramatic subjects are "The Royalist's Wife," "Love of a Pasha's Son," "The Kindhearted Bootblack," and "A Faithless Lover.'' Much educational value may be derived from the pictures of "Seal Hunting in the Arctic," and "The Leather Industry," and a good laugh is rasaured at "The Polite Parson," "A Lover's Obstinacy," "The Escaped Lunatic," and "Professor Puddenhead's Inventions." There will be another complete change on Saturday.
