With regard to the affidavits by Captain Loose, a retired navigator, and George Dunkle, an insurance agent, ihat they fabricated nautical and astronomical observations for Dr Cook, the Arctic explorer, Mr Lonsdale, the doctor's secretary, states that Cook merely allowed Loose to read bis records. None of Loose's observations were used. Mr Lonsdale adds that Loose was discharged for drunkenness.
