GREYTOWN NEWS.
From Our Resident Reporter. Monday. It is reported that a movement is on foot among the farmers at Matarawa, Waiohine and Woodside to establish a cheese factory near the Matarawa Railway Station. Mi Charters, Headmaster of the Greytown School, contemplates taking a trip to Australia during the summer vacation. On Saturday evening Greytown was busier than it has been for some time past, the fine night and the display of Christmas novelties shown by the various business establishments was no doubt accountable for the crowd. s Shearing is still being prolonged owing to the unfavourable weather, and the scarcity of shearers, especially blade shearers, who are in demand by the small farmers. Crops around the South Wairarapa are looking exceptionally well, and with good weather the yield promises to be nearly a record.
