The Earl of Plymouth, in announcing the fact, said that such man as Morrice, the Canadian,, and Menpes, Lambert and Bunny,. Australians, had carved their way to the very front ranks of British artisto, but the atmosphere of Paris- pervades their canvases. He suggested that the exhibits at the Festival of Empire should show work produced in the colonies, as an instance of the atmosphere of their particular homes, with which British art-lovers were wholly^inacquainted.
