A PERIOD OF DEPRESSION.
Perhaps it is a good thing that the Dominion has just passed through a time of financial depression, which should have instilled caution again-st over-speculation. Had this year's high prices of wool been obtained last year, before that caution was given, we might, says the "Timaru Herald," have seen the speculation in land carried to very much greater and more mischievous lengths than it was before the check came.
