DAIRY PRODUCE.

THE SEASON'S SHIPMENTS. A BIG ADVANCE. An analysis of the shipped so far this season shows that compared with the amount exported up to the corresponding date of last year there is a very gratifying increase. Last year the export totalled 167,103 boxes, of butter, and 48,646 cases of cheese, while this season there has been shipped 216.174 boxes of butter andJJ 66,751 cases of cheese, an increase of 49,071 boxes of butter and 18,105 cases of cheese. Taking into consideration the cheese shut out of the lonic, about 3,000 cases, this means that there has been an increased revenue from butter and cheese of no less than £140,000. Following are particulars of the shipments:—

Totals 167,103 48,646 The figures show that the increase in cheese is not as grea s™ it §was anticipated it would be, and the increase indicated by the figures is not a fair indication of ttie ratio of the cneese- increase against that of butter, as at the beginning of last season factories having dual plant" made butter, owing to shortage nn local markets, in September. This year the same factories were practically all on cheese from the start. It will be noticed that the Kia Ora only took 6,234 boxes of butter, the only cheese shut out of the lonic amounting to something under 3,000 cases.
