NORTHER?! TERRITORY BILL. PRACTICALLY STRANGLED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received December 6, 10.30 a.m. MELBOURNE. December 6 The Federal Senate practically strangled the Northern Territory Acceptance Bill. The stumbling block was the construction of a railway. Mr Deakin, Prime Minister, promised to use his influence to prevent the Bill being wholly lost, even during this session. He hoped it would not be long before the territory was taken over by the Commonwealth.
