(Prom Oar Resident Reporter) Saturday. FAREWELL SOCAL 'lO MR AND MRS MORRIS. On Friday evening, at Hukanui, the many friends of Mi* and Mrs F. Morris gathered to bid them farewell on the occasion of their leaving' this district for New Plymouth, The hall had been nicely decorated with bush green and cabbage tree blooms. There was a large attendance. Early in the evening Mr Anderson, on behalf of the residents of the district, presented the guests with a handsome clock suitably inscribed, m doing Su he referred briefly to the active part which Mr Morris had always taken in local matters as secntaiy for different committees, including the secretaryship of the Bu?h District Rugby Union, which he had held for some years, and in sports and footbull particularly, having played senior Rugby for the Bush for fifteen years. Mr Anderson concluded his happy and well-chosen remarks by conveying- to the departing ones the wishes of all present for their future success. Mr Morris very suitably responded, thanking all presen f-r t : lr in !iy exprotsioin of frim'ship tovva 'tis Mrs Morris and himself. Dancing was kept up till 2.30 o'clock, and during the evening songs were sung by Mrs A. V. fldy, Miss Foss (encore), Messrs Matison. McKinnon, Mowbray, A. V. Udy, Miriams (encore), and G. Smith; a recitation was given by Mr Petersen, and a Cobbler's Dance by Mr J, Oi'r. Mr Ogden very kindly contributed th2 music for the dancing. Misses and Manson played the accompaniments, and Messrs Hooper and Robinson acted as M's.C. Mr Morris will leave for his new home early next week, Mrs Morris following after Christmas. GENERAL. .The local creamery is at "nigh tide," 2,800 gallons being received from- 36 suppliers. Everything points t'i a record season. The average test is higher than last year.
