(From Oar Resident Reporter) Friday. xMr and Mrs F. Morris, of Hukanui. are to be presented with a handsome dining room clock at the farewell social to be tendered to them this evening. . A rehearsal of action songs, tableaux, and drills, was held in the OlyMpic Theatre last evening,™ read" inesa for the juvenile concert this evening. Under the guidance of Miss Marten, the children, some 40 girls and 15 boys, showed remarkably good talent and the concert this evening will be the first of its kind in Fahiatua for some considerable time. Our local "Bootman," Mr J. K. Carpenter, has opened up severai Hues of summer boots in tans and black, all of which he is selling at 18s 6d. With a Rood pair of boots on a man always looks neat, and those requiring summer footwear would do well to inspect Mr Carpenter's very large stock. Mr J. Murphy, who has been relieving tublit porter at Mangamaire and Hukanui for the past two years, has been transferred to Manakau. ■ Mr C. A. Bluett, builder, has been making e tensive al Kialions to Mr L Johianaen's I oure, converting it into an np-to-date house. T.he work reflects credit on the builder, Mr Bluett. A valedictory social is-tu be tendered to the Rev. and Mrs Kitcat in the Eketahuna Hall on Thursday next. Presbyterian church service will be held at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday next, at Kakariki.
