STOCK MARKET.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd.", report as-follows on their Masterton sale yesterday:—We offered fat ewes and 2 tooth mixed, both entries selling at sound rates. In cattle we submitted all classes to a good market. The quality throughout was good, -and every pen selling under the hammer. Fat ewes, fair quality, realised 10s; mixed 2 tootli medium class, 10s; 3 year steers, £5 to JES 7s; 2 year old?, 70s to 755; IS months, 50s; yearlings, 40s to caiv .". vir. In beef cows the prices ranged from £3 10s for light to £5 for heavy;, store cows, according to condition, 40s to 60s; 2 year Hereford bulls, 11 guineas.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their fortnightly sale at their Masterton yards yesterday : We submitted a limited yarding of sheep, and a good yarding of cattle. Bidding throughout the sale was good, and we have to report a very satisfactory clearance. We yarded some'nice cattle on account of Messrs Barton Bros., "Malaikona," and th.se brought good prices. We quote as follows— Two tooth to f.m. ewes,- 10s 3d; 4 and 6 tooth wethers, lis; 3, 4 and oyear bullocks made up to £6 6s; 3-year bteers £4 15s; 2-year steers, £4 12s. The above lines ware on account of Messrs Barton Bros, Heifers in calf, £3 7s; 18 month heifer?, £2 2s; 20-month steers, £3 ss; forward empty cows, £3 10s; Shorthorn bulls from £3 10s to £4; Polled Angus bulls, £lO 10s; fat and forward heifers, £3 14s to £4 2s 6d; fat cows, £4 7s; yearling heifers, £2 10s. We also have to report a satisfactory sale of horses, which were offered on account of Mr George Hume.
