ASHHURST NOMINATIONS.
The annual race meeting of the Ashhurat-Pohangina Racing Club is one of the most popular fixtures in the Wellington Provincial district. The meeting being held immediately following the Palmerston races, and the club giving very substantial stakes, is no doubt laigely responsible for the club's success. The stakes allotted for the forthcoming meeting total 1.155 sovs, no race receiving less than 100 sovs, while the Ashhurst Cup is worth 350 sovs. Nominations for all events, and final payment for the Ashhurst Guineas of 1909, will close with the secretary, Mr A. W. Trass, at 9 p.m. on Saturday next.
