From Our Resident' Reporter. Monday. A local builder, Mr D. T. King, has just made to the order of a local baker, a huge wooden dough trough, measuring 15 feet long, by three feet wide, by two feet deep. The trough is made of kauri, and the width of the widest board is three feet. On i'riday evening next, the local School Committee will meet to consider the applications for the vacant teachership in the secondary school. There are five applications. The Kev. W. J. -Elliott, senior Methodist Minister of the South Wairarapa circuit, on Sunday rode 40 miles on a bicycle to conduct three services, at Featherston and district. The Civ'l Service Examinations concluded here this afternoon. The matriculation, medical and engineering preliminary, and solicitors' examinations commence to-morrow, and for junior free places and national scholarships will begin at the High School on Wednesday. This morning the death occurred at an early hour of Ronald, the 15 months old soil' of Mr and Mrs John Ray, of Clarevilie. The little chap was only tjken ill on Saturday, and the best of medical attention was of no avail. Mr and Mrs Ray will have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in tneir bereavement. A three-decker wedding cake in the window of the business premises of a local baker is attracting considerable attention. On Sunday week the local Methodist Sunday School will celebrate their anniversary, when the Rev. C. Eaton will officiate. Mr Eaton was at one time stationed there.
