Mr F. S. Cooper, formerly licensee at the '.Central Hotel, Mastertcn. died at flawera on Sunday last. News hajS been received by Mr J. Vigor Brown, M.P. of the death of his iwother at Melbourne, at the age of 97 years.

The Masteiton Foresters' Lodge will be represented at the triennial conference of Foresters, which is to be held at Pictoo by Mr V. G. Darroch, secretary

On Saturday last Mr James Judd, of Gr°ytown, was married to Miss Mary Davies. The marriage took place at the home of the bridegroom, and a large number of relatives and friends were present, Mr and Mrs John Reynolds, of Greytown, celebrated their uolden wedding on Saturday in that town, where they have lived for 41 years, and where they are very much reepected.

A highly respected resident of Kopuaranga, Mrs F. G. Palrrer, died on Sunday last. The funeral will take place to-day, -leaving the residence, Kopuaranga, at 10 o'clock, and arriving at Masterton about 3 p.m.

In 1887 he was elected a. trustee of the Parish and Library Commissioner for Poplar. In 1893 he became a guardian. He is still a member of the London County Council, and is on the Metropolitan Asylums Board, and was Mayor of the Borough of Poplar. In March, 1903, he was elected member for Woolwkh by a majority of over 3,000, and still retains his seat.
