;[Rev. A. T. B. Page, has been appointed chaplain of the Greytown Boy Scouts. Mr 0. E. Turner treasurer, and Mr W. I. Shan ley secretary.

Mr William Munro, a resident of Palmerston North for the past 35 years, is'about to settle in Masterton He is the oldest member of the Perth session of St. Andrew's Church, and the officers of the church made him a presentation.

Mr J. Gray, a prominent, member of the Rivals Cricket Club, has been presented with a silver mounted oak butter dish by the members to mark the occasion of his approaching marriage.

Mr Will Crooks, M.P., a British Labour leader, and Mrs Crooks, Mayoress of Poplar, were tendered a civic welcome in Wellington last evening. There was a larga audience. Tee Mayor presided, and welcomed Mr Crooks and hiß wife to Wellington, speaking in appreciation of their humanitarian work in England. At Wellington on Thursday, Miss Sophie Terese Dupre, second daughter of the late Mr and Mrs F. C. Dupre, of the Masterton, was married to Mr Bernard Gallagher, only son of Mrs Gallagher, of Wellington,. The bride was attended byher sister, Miss N. Dupre. The bridegroom was supported by Mr Len McKenzie. Miss Dupre formerly resided in Masterton.

A pleasing little function took place in Knox Hall last evening, when the members of the Knox Hockey Club "met and presented the captain of the senior team, Mr J. Gray, with a handsome eight day clock, in honour of his approaching marriage. Mr Gray was also presented yesterday afternoon by Mr C E. Daniell's business staff with a set of carvers, Mr F. W. Temple making the presentation.
