THE CAPTAIN'S NARRATIVE. By Telegraph—Press Association. PICTON, November 22, The local steamer Elsie arrived from Picton on Sunday afternion, with the mister and crew of *he wrecked barque Hippalos. At 2.25 o'clock the man at the Jookout cried "ftard up!" and the helm responded, but the barque did not pay off quickly enough, and struck heavily on Walker's Rock. The ship was under easy sail at the time. He called all hands on deck, and ordered the boate to be got out in readiness, then went down below and found the water making freely in the bows. He made for Guard's Bank, and came to an anchor in ten fathoms of water. There was then 6ft ot water in the hold. , He burr.ed flare lights and rockets, and sent up aistress signals from th> time of striking till tl.e vtss.f anchored.
